A big obstacle to recycling minerals and aggregates from civil engineering schemes and maintenance operations is the level of moisture within the waste. MTS in collaboration with Combined Drier Technology developed a mobile drying operation so that minerals can be dried on site and screened on site. This enables all recyclable aggregates to be re-used within construction higher up the waste hierarchy. This is due to aggregates being clean enough to meet higher specifications. 

The machine is currently being trialled on multiple waste streams including gully waste, filter drain waste, surface dressing chippings, rail ballast and utility spoil.

The mineral drier is being used by Skanska on multiple highways contracts.
