MTS Environmental have partnered with AC1 Customs to investigate low carbon transport options as a long-term project. Initially, as authorised agents for Electric Wheels, we can offer all-terrain zero carbon electric vehicles to waste and construction sites to hire or for sale. This allows businesses to reduce their carbon emissions and work towards net zero, assisting in making the waste and construction industry more sustainable. It also reduces noise impacts of sites on nearby sensitive receptors as the electric vehicles are near silent so act as a very effective mitigation measure. MTS Environmental believe that these vehicles are not only the best environmental option, but they are also the best economical option as powering them through electrics is much cheaper than the cost of diesel. AC1 Customs and MTS Environmental are collaborating to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of batteries vs hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen combustion engines. The long-term goal is to have the ability to replace diesel powered engines in vehicles with a zero-carbon alternative. The project will involve research into hydrogen fuelled options, low carbon technology and recycling.
