MTS Environmental WasteAccountant.Com Launch

Published:13 Sep 2008

Due to increasing regulation from Europe the waste management industry is becoming increasingly effective and inventive in the way it manages waste. This is great for the construction industry as it enables it to achieve high recycling performance by using the waste management supply chain along side its own recycling initiatives.

WasteAccountant.com enables the waste management industry to publicise what wastes its facilities can handle and what recycling percentages are achieved for each waste stream. The construction industry can then find waste suppliers near proposed schemes which will facilitate the effective completion of Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP) by clients and designers throughout the UK. Contractors subscribing to WasteAccountant.com can then complete there obligations under the SWMP regulations in synchrony with clients.

How to use the Search:

Enter a waste code that is expected to be generated by the scheme/job and the area/location the waste will be generated. You will then be given a selection of suppliers that can take the material and some basic information about the facility including what type of facility it is, the recycling percentage achieved for that waste type and any specialist services/treatments the waste supplier my have and of course contact details.

The location will also be highlighted on a map to assist in sourcing waste suppliers which are local to a scheme and therefore reducing CO2 footprint.
